Setlers Antacid Tablets

Settlers Antacid Tablets contain calcium carbonate to neutralise excess stomach acid. They are used to relieve the symptoms of acid indigestion, heartburn and wind.

Dosage: Adults, the elderly and children over the age of 12: Take 1 or 2 tablets when required, not exceeding 16 tablets in 24 hours.

Do not give to children under 12 years of age

How do Setlers Antacid Tablets work?

Setlers antacid tablets contain the active ingredient calcium carbonate, which is a type of medicine called an antacid.

Calcium carbonate works by binding to excess acid produced by the stomach. This neutralises the acid and decreases the acidity of the stomach contents.

Setlers Antacids relieve the pain and discomfort of indigestion, heartburn and other symptoms related to excess stomach acid, by reducing the acidity of the stomach contents. They work as soon as they reach the stomach.

What are setlers antacid tablets used for?

• Excess gas in the stomach and intestines (flatulence)
• Heartburn
• Indigestion
• Nausea
• Upset stomach characterised by stomach pain and burning, nausea and excess gas (dyspepsia)

Warning!

• If symptoms persist despite treatment, seek medical advice from your doctor or pharmacist.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose of this medicine, which will be stated in the product packaging or information leaflet supplied with the medicine.
• Setlers is not recommended for use in children.
• Setlers should be sucked or chewed.

Use with caution in

• Decreased kidney function

Not to be used in

• High levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcaemia)

This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy.

If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.

• There are no known harmful effects when this medicine is used by pregnant or breastfeeding mothers.

How can setlers antacid tablets affect other medicines?

Antacids such as calcium carbonate can reduce the absorption of other medicines from the gut, which may make the other medicines less effective. If you are taking any other medicines, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this antacid. In general, any interactions can be avoided by leaving an interval of about two hours between taking this medicine and any other medicine. This is particularly important for the following medicines:
- tetracycline-type antibiotics, eg doxycycline, minocycline, tetracycline
- ciprofloxacin.

Standard Delivery is FREE for orders over £50.

For orders of less than £50 there will be a delivery charge of £2.95.

Orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same day (subject to stock availability)

Special Delivery Next Day (Next Working Day)**

This is our express delivery option and orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday will be usually be dispatched the same day using Royal Mail Special Delivery for a guaranteed next working day delivery. This service has a tracking number for your parcel so you can follow your orders progress on its journey to you (see Tracking My Order). You will be required to sign for the parcel so please ensure that you are available at your delivery address between 9am to 5pm on your expected delivery day.

Please be aware this service is not gauranteed on a Saturday in some areas and you item may be delivered on the following monday if ordered after 2pm on Thursday.
