What is Hedrin Liquid Gel
and what does it do?
Hedrin Liquid Gel is in an easy liquid format. The easy to use trigger helps direct the liquid gel onto the head and hair even in those hard to getat areas. Hedrin Liquid Gel is highly effective againsthead lice and eggs.It works by physically smothering the lice and also contains Penetrol which helps the product to penetrate louse eggs in order to kill them. The gel can safely be used as often as required without lice developing resistance.
2 Before using Hedrin Liquid Gel
Do not use Hedrin Liquid Gel:
• If you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
• Do not use on broken skin.
• Do not use on children under 6 months.
Take special care with Hedrin Liquid Gel:
• Hedrin Liquid Gel is slippery. Baths, shower cubicles, etc., may become slippery when using or washing the hair. Take care. Wash any residues away with detergent and warm water.
• For external use only.
• Avoid contact with the eyes. If the gel accidentally comes into contact with your eyes, flush with plenty of water. If irritation persists seek medical advice.
• If accidentally swallowed consult a doctor as soon as possible. Take the pack with you to show which product you have swallowed.
Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding:
None of the ingredients of Hedrin Liquid Gel are considered likely to cause any unwanted effects if used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Use by children:
The gel is suitable for adults and children aged 6 months and over.
Driving and using machines:
Hedrin Liquid Gel does not affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, surfaces which come into contact with the gel may become slippery and unless hands are washed thoroughly after use it may affect your grip.
3 How to use Hedrin Liquid Gel
Hedrin Liquid Gel is suitable for adults and children aged 6 months and over.
Please note:
• Hedrin Liquid Gel has been specially formulated with non-volatile ingredients. However, normal safety precautions should be observed. Hair and clothing should always be kept away from naked flames and other sources of ignition.
• If a member of the family has live head lice, check the other family members and treat all other cases of live head lice which are discovered at the same time. The gel liquid comes ready assembled. Before use, remove the coloured safety clip from under the nozzle. This may be retained or disposed of safely (see section 5 – Storing Hedrin Liquid Gel).
HOW TO APPLY:
• Cover the shoulders with a towel.
• SHAKE THE BOTTLE WELL BEFORE USE.
• Use the gel on hair carefully evenly over DRY hair, to ensure that the scalp and hair are fully covered and the hair is SATURATED.
• Be careful not to get liquid into eyes and face
• Work into the hair with the fingers or an ordinary comb spreading the gel thoroughly and evenly from the roots to tips.
• Leave on the hair for at least 1 hour (or longer if more convenient).
• Wash the hair thoroughly with a nonconditioning shampoo. For best results, apply the shampoo directly to the hair without wetting it. Hedrin Liquid Gel contains anti-foaming ingredients so the shampoo will not lather readily. Rinse with water, repeat shampooing as necessary and dry. There is no need to use conditioner.
• Apply Hedrin Liquid Gel again after seven days.
4 Possible side effects
When using Hedrin Liquid Gel, flaking of the scalp, itching and slight irritation around the eyes may occur. Do not continue using Hedrin Liquid Gel if a skin rash or other signs of allergy occur. Wash skin with soap and water and seek medical advice.
If you notice any of these or other side effects, stop using the product and talk to a doctor or pharmacist.
5 Storing Hedrin Liquid Gel
• If accidentally spilled Hedrin Liquid Gel may be a slip hazard.
• Keep out of reach and sight of children. Take care when disposing of the coloured safety clip to avoid the risk of children swallowing it.
• Keep in original carton.
• Store below 25°C.
• Do not use after the expiry date shown on the pack.
• After use, the empty pack can be recycled.
