About Diprobase

Soothing, healing and protecting sore skin for more than 25 years

Diprobase is an emollient that comes in a range of formats; Cream, Ointment and Bath, which are designed to work together to provide you with the complete emollient therapy you need.

Did you know?

Complete emollient therapy is a term used to describe a treatment regimen that includes a mix of formats to help people avoid using cosmetic soaps and wash products. Diprobase's patient friendly formulation is free from common sensitisers and irritants. These are found in some other emollients and can make your eczema worse.

Patient friendly formulation - free from common sensitisers and irritants

Emollients are designed to protect and care for sore skin, however, some contain ingredients that may make your eczema worse. These include:

  • Sensitisers that can produce immediate or delayed allergic reactions:
    • Lanolin: a derivative of wool fat
    • Parabens: a group of commonly used preservatives known as hydroxybenzoates
  • Irritants, including:
    • Synthetic or floral perfumes (some of which may also be sensitisers)
    • Substances like sodium lauryl sulphate often found in shampoo and bubble bath to create the foam and in emollients to stop them separating.
    • How severe the reaction is will depend on how much of the irritant is put on and how long it stays there
