It is important for couples to be in the best possible health nutritionally, ideally at least 6 months before a baby is conceived. The sperm and ovum are formed well in advance of fertilization and need to be provided with the best nutrition possible for when they combine. For example sperm take 75 days to form and up to 21 days to mature, which means a man’s current lifestyle and health will affect the sperm he produces 3 months from now. Why is nutrition important in reproductive health?
For men, sperm can be highly susceptible to free radical or oxidative damage and natural aging. Vitamins C and E, and selenium are all potent antioxidants that may help maintain sperm counts and quality by reducing free radical damage. How and when should Pregnacare® His & Her Conception be used?
Women should take one tablet per day (pink blister) and men should take one tablet per day (purple blister. One tablet per day is recommended with or immediately after your main meal, with a full glass of water or a cold drink. Pregnacare® His & Her Conception should only be taken on a full stomach.Taking the tablets with a large meal maximises the absorption of the nutrients, and can reduce any mild nausea which may be experienced if multivitamins are taken on an empty stomach, or a light meal like breakfast. Always ensure that Pregnacare® His & Her Conception is taken with plenty of liquid to wash down the tablet. We do not recommend chewing the tablets because they have not been formulated as a chewable preparation. Pregnacare® Conception and Wellman® Conception tablets are suitable for vegetarians.

Are there any undesired effects whilst taking Pregnacare® His & Her Conception?
Pregnacare® Conception and Wellman® Conception have no known side-effects when taken as directed. Do not exceed the recommended tablet intake. In case of overdose, seek medical advice immediately.

Some Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) levels are above 100%. Is this safe?
Certain vitamins are very safe at levels tens or even hundreds of times the RDA, whereas for others the safety level is much closer to the RDA. My husband and I have been taking these vitamins for 6 months now and still no luck. No doubt they are not doing any harm, but I can't see yet that they're doing us much good, fertility-wise. But that may be down to something that vitamins can't help with!
